Our Story
One family, one name, since 1951.
Mark and Betty Armstrong started with a cabinet shop and a family name. Three quarters of a century later, the second generation still designs and builds from the same corner of Overland Park.
- 1951Mark and Betty Armstrong open the shopMark started a custom cabinet shop in Merriam, and the name over the door was the family name. It still is.
- The 1960sOne of the first factory finishing systems in the mid-westWe built a modern assembly line and one of the first factory finishing systems in the region, so cabinets came out consistent, every time.
- The early 1970sWomen cabinet makers, at equal payWe began hiring women as cabinet makers and paid them the same as everyone else on the bench. That was not common then. It was the right way to run a shop.
- 1978 to 1981We brought cabinet refacing to Kansas CityWe introduced cabinet refacing to the Kansas City market, so homeowners with good boxes and dated doors had another option besides tearing everything out.
- TodaySecond generation, same showroomKristeen Armstrong-Scott, a Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer, leads the second generation from the same Overland Park showroom we have kept for more than thirty years.
