Kitchen & Bath Design · Overland Park · Since 1951

Seventy-five years of kitchens. The most important one is yours.

We are a second-generation family business, and we have been at it since 1951. In that time we have built and installed more than 20,000 kitchens, from Toronto to Corpus Christi, and we still design and build every one from our own showroom in Overland Park.

Our name goes on every project. When you talk over your remodel with us, you may get the feeling that we really understand what you want, and that we can make it happen for you. You will be right.

Our Story

One family, one name, since 1951.

Mark and Betty Armstrong started with a cabinet shop and a family name. Three quarters of a century later, the second generation still designs and builds from the same corner of Overland Park.

  1. 1951Mark and Betty Armstrong open the shopMark started a custom cabinet shop in Merriam, and the name over the door was the family name. It still is.
  2. The 1960sOne of the first factory finishing systems in the mid-westWe built a modern assembly line and one of the first factory finishing systems in the region, so cabinets came out consistent, every time.
  3. The early 1970sWomen cabinet makers, at equal payWe began hiring women as cabinet makers and paid them the same as everyone else on the bench. That was not common then. It was the right way to run a shop.
  4. 1978 to 1981We brought cabinet refacing to Kansas CityWe introduced cabinet refacing to the Kansas City market, so homeowners with good boxes and dated doors had another option besides tearing everything out.
  5. TodaySecond generation, same showroomKristeen Armstrong-Scott, a Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer, leads the second generation from the same Overland Park showroom we have kept for more than thirty years.

What We Do

We design it, build it, and install it.

One firm from the first sketch to the last cabinet pull. Design, custom cabinetry, counters, tile, lighting, and licensed installation.

  1. 01Kitchen DesignFull design from the floor plan to a 3D rendering, then the build. You see the room before we start cutting.
  2. 02Bath DesignBathrooms, powder rooms, and the storage and lighting that make them work day to day.
  3. 03Custom CabinetryCustom cabinets built and finished for your room, using the finishing system we have run for decades.
  4. 04Refacing & RefinishingWhen the layout already works, we reface or repaint. New doors and finishes over cabinets that are still sound.
  5. 05Countertops & TileCounters, tile, backsplashes, lighting, ventilation, and hardware, sourced and installed by our own crew.
  6. 06Laundry, Offices & PantriesLaundry rooms, home offices, and pantries, designed with the same care as the kitchen next door.
